Orphans, Starring Alec Baldwin, Ben Foster & Tom Sturridge, Opens on Broadway

The Broadway premiere of Orphans, starring Emmy winner and Tony nominee Alec Baldwin, Ben Foster and Tom Sturridge, officially opens on April 18 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.

Penned by Lyle Kessler, Orphans is the story of two orphaned brothers living in a decrepit North Philadelphia row house. Treat (Foster), the eldest, supports his damaged younger sibling by petty thievery, and makes the house a virtual prison for the seemingly simple-minded Phillip (Sturridge). One night Treat kidnaps a rich older man, Harold (Baldwin), who turns out to have his own motives and becomes the father figure for which the boys have always yearned.

Directed by Tony winner Daniel Sullivan, Orphans features scenic design John Lee Beatty, costume design by Jess Goldstein, lighting design by Pat Collins, sound design by Peter J. Fitzgerald and music by Tom Kitt.
